SEARCH : Which Children Product Will You Get?
Got a child of preschool age? If yes, you will be happy to know that you can teach your preschool child the letters of alphabet quite easily. It is not a hard thing to do, it is an easy thing to do. But it does take some time.
Like any normal child of this age, your child will not learn everything in a day or even a week, Rome wasn’t built in day! But that is not to say that it will take forever. Actually, your preschool child can learn the entire alphabet in 2 months or less.
So how do you go about teaching your child the alphabet? Here is a step by step instruction that is not only effective but is most likely the best way to teach a preschool child the alphabet.
Write the first letter of your child’s name in a notebook with a pen
If your child’s name is Agnes, then write the letter A, in front of her, and say out loud “A”. By showing her how the letter was written in front of her, your child will be able to see the correct way of writing.
Ask your child to repeat the sound of the letter
For example, say to your preschool child “say D”. He/she will repeat the name of the letter after you. Praise him/her for repeating the name of the letter. Repeat the process and listen while your child says the name of the letter again. Praise him/her again for saying the letter. You may want to do this step two or three times.
Write the next letter of your child’s name and read it out loud to him/her
Write the next letter of your child’s name and say the letter to your child. Ask him/her to say in your presence. Before proceeding to a new letter, go over the previous letters. First point to each one saying his/her name and then again point to them and have your child repeat them to you. If he gets stuck say it for him and then continue. Repeat it two or three times.
Continue with all the letters of your child’s first name and then on to his/her last name
When you have finished with all the letters in your preschool child’s first and last name, then you can continue with the rest of the letter of the alphabet. Do it until you have taught all the letters of the alphabet to your child.
Learn by song
Sing the ABC song when your child is all done and point to each letter as you do. All children love music. Your child will like this and will love to know his ABC’s. You can also boost your child’s self esteem by showing the other members of your family how he/she has learned his alphabet characters. This will go a long way towards helping his personal development.
